DETAILED ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR INSTALLATION OF 24" COOLING WATER SUPPLY LINE IN UTILITY AREAS OF TRAIN 1 & 2

The existing 20" Cooling water branch header which is running underground is corroded and highly prone to failure. Any failure in 20" header would be leading to disturbance in operation of common utilities and would be causing shutting down of LNG Trains.

Activity : Detailed Engineering for Installation Of 24" Cooling Water Supply Line in Utility Areas of Train 1 & 2
Client : Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company Ltd. (ADNOC-LNG) through GOGAS
Place Abu-Dhabi, U.A.E.
Period July 2018 - March 2020

OBJECTIVES:

  • The existing 20" Cooling water branch header which is running underground is corroded and highly prone to failure. Any failure in 20" header would be leading to disturbance in operation of common utilities and would be causing shutting down of LNG Trains. Since the failure of 20" cooling water line is affecting reliability of the plant, it has been decided to reroute 20" cooling water header as aboveground piping. The cooling water supply to utility systems shall be provided from this new aboveground header and the existing underground 20" cooling water header would be discarded.
  • It is also required to increase the size of the header to 24" from the existing 20" size considering the hydraulic analysis results. The new header would be fabricated and installed on any time basis and the tie in inside plant would be done during next common turnaround of Train 1&2.
  • The COMPANY intends to change underground 20" cooling water line to 24" aboveground cooling water line.
  • The detailed engineering scope of work includes preparation of project design basis, Piping Engineering, Civil & Structural engineering for pipe supports and pipe support foundations.
